Installation Guide

Get your instant respawn setup running quickly with this simple UEFN workflow. Follow the steps below to add the Verse file, place the device, configure its settings, and test it in your island.

1. Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following ready:

Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) installed
A project with Verse scripting enabled
Basic knowledge of the UEFN content browser

2. Add the Verse file

Now add the source file to your project and compile it.

In your UEFN project, open the Verse Explorer panel
Create a new .verse file named instant_respawn.verse
Paste the full source code into the file
Click Compile (top toolbar) and make sure there are no errors

3. Place the device in your island

Once compiled, the device will be available in your Verse assets.

Find the instant_respawn device in the Content Browser under your Verse assets
Drag it into your island scene

4. Configure the device

Select the device in the viewport and set the following properties in the Details panel:

Property	Type	Description
`SpawnersDevice`	`player_spawner_device[]`	List of Player Spawner devices used as respawn points
`RespawnDelai`	`float` (0.2 – 100 000)	Delay in seconds before respawning the player

Add at least one Player Spawner device to your island and reference it in SpawnersDevice
Set RespawnDelai to 0.2 for near-instant respawn, or higher for a timed delay

Tip: Use 0.2 for a near-instant feel, or increase the value if you want a more deliberate respawn delay.

5. Test your island

Finish by launching a session and confirming the respawn behavior in-game.

Press Launch Session in UEFN
Eliminate yourself or another player and verify that respawn happens at one of the configured spawners after the set delay
