Before you start to install it read this :

Never use the system for two players simultaneously; this is equivalent to giving the painting input to only one player. Also, please be aware that the more cubes there are, the more lag your map will experience and the slower the painting process will be. The maximum with the settings i place in the code is around 1000 cubes

🎨 Paint Cube System — Installation Guide UEFN / Verse

This system lets players paint props in real time by looking at them while holding an input. Material selection is done by looking at the color palette, and a global fill mode is also available.

🟣 1. Setting up paintable props

1.1 Place the props Place all the props you want to make paintable in your UEFN scene (cubes, walls, surfaces...).

1.2 Assign the PaintCubeTag On each of those props, add the custom tag. The system automatically detects all tagged props on startup.

Tag to use: PaintCubeTag{}

💡 If you forget the tag on a prop, it simply won't be detected — no error will be thrown.

⚙️ 2. Configuring the device

2.1 Add the device to the scene Drag the Verse paint device into your island from the UEFN devices panel. It will be automatically initialized when the session starts.

2.2 Editable properties

Property	Type	Description
`InputDetect`	`input_trigger_device`	Detects when the player holds the input (e.g. right-click). Required to activate painting.
`ColorPannel`	`[]creative_prop`	Palette props. Looking at one selects the material at the matching index.
`MaterialChangers`	`[]material`	Available materials. Index must match the order in `ColorPannel`.
`SelectProp`	`creative_prop`	Indicator prop that teleports to the active palette color for visual feedback.
`FillProp`	`creative_prop`	Special fill prop. Looking at it paints all cubes with the current material at once.

💡 The order of ColorPannel and MaterialChangers must match — index 0 of the palette = index 0 of the materials.

📐 3. Adjusting the offset

3.1 The OffSets value The look detection uses a Z-axis offset to compensate for the character's eye height. Default:

OffSets : vector3 = vector3{ X := 0.0, Y := 0.0, Z := -100.0 }

If painting doesn't trigger correctly, adjust Z between -80 and -120 in the source code depending on your props' size and height.

💡 For standard-sized props placed at ground level, Z := -100.0 works in most cases.

🎮 4. In-game usage

4.1 Select a material

Hold the input configured in InputDetect
Look at a palette prop (ColorPannel) — SelectProp teleports to it to confirm
The corresponding material is now active

4.2 Paint a cube

Hold the input
Look at a prop tagged with PaintCubeTag
The active material is applied instantly

4.3 Global fill

Hold the input
Look at the FillProp
All cubes in the scene are painted with the current material

💡 The global fill processes cubes in batches of 150 per tick. On large islands it may take a moment but won't block the server..
